Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters held his regular monthly meeting on Thursday at the Chattooga County Courthouse Annex.  The commissioner reviewed actions taken by his office over the past month including the decision to contract with Redmond Regional to provide ambulance service for the county. 

Commissioner Winters had re-appointed Betty Brady to the Region One Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Planning Board for a three year term.  Ms. Brady currently serves as chairperson of the committee and has served for several years. 

There were about thirteen people at the meeting.  Lewis Strange expressed that the county should continue to attempt to collect past due ambulance bills even though Redmond will be taking over the county service.  Strange stated that he would like to see the names of people that owe bills to the county ambulance service published in the paper.  Commissioner Winters said that the county would continue to attempt to collect past due ambulance bills, but stated that there were laws that regulated how the county can collect those bills since they involve people’s personal medical records.
