The Georgia State Patrol says that a driver under the influence was involved in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 100 near Worsham Road in Chattooga County last Friday evening.

State Troopers say that a Centre, Alabama man, driving a 2004 Ford Taurus, “attempted to make a left-hand turn where there was no paved road or any other road and traveled down an embankment an struck a ditch at the bottom of the embankment”.  Eighty-two-year-old Roy Maurice Thompson of a County Road 538, Centre, Alabama address, was charged with DUI and making an improper turn.
