A Catoosa County doctor was arrested Tuesday morning for illegally giving out prescription medications, police said.

According to Catoosa County Sheriff Phil Summers:

Dr. Norman Neal, of 2513 Old Chattanooga Pike in Cleveland, Tenn., was arrested by the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office without incident. He faces 10 counts of illegally issuing prescription pain medications. His bond has not been set and he remained Tuesday in the county jail.

The arrest took place at Doctors Heath Center at 4213 Cloud Springs Road in Ringgold and was the result of a two-month investigation initiated by complaints received by law enforcement involving the issuance of prescrip-tions for hydrocodone to numerous individuals.

The federal Drug Enforcement Agency, the Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force, and the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
