Released by Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader:
Trion Police Chief David Gilleland and I, Sheriff Mark Schrader, would like to thank our local media and residents for sharing our posts and information concerning this past weekends crime spree of vehicles being broken into or entered for the purpose of theft.

Thanks to the keen eye of an off duty deputy and the surveillance videos that were shared, Investigators with the Trion Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office have identified five individuals that were responsible for the thefts. Four of the five were juveniles (under 17) and one was 17 years old.
Investigators are working on charges for each one and trying to put recovered property back into the hands of the rightful owners. We have recovered property that has not been identified as of yet. If you or someone you know had something stolen from your vehicle this past weekend, please reach out to Investigator Chris Wooten at Trion Police if you live in the Town of Trion or Investigator Jason Burrage with the Sheriff’s Office if you live in the county.
Thank you and please share this release.
