February is Scouting Month, and the Northwest Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America have spent this month – and this entire year – serving their community, completing projects, and having fun.
Last weekend, Boy Scouts in Chattooga County collected food during the annual Scouting for Food project. All of the nonperishable items donated during the effort were donated to the Community Resource Center of Chattooga County.
Eric Vaughn, Vice President of Marketing, attests that this has indeed been a very busy month with activities ranging from Scouting for Food, Boy Scouts’ birthday, and the annual pinewood derby.
Vaughn says that he is now looking forward to Scout Day at the State Capital, set for March 9th.
Upcoming events also include the Cub Scout Fish and Fun Day set for April 29th at Camp Sidney Dew. And many scouts are looking forward to attending camp this summer, enthuses Vaughn, who adds that now is a good time to get involved with a local troop.
