Summerville Police were dispatched to Martin Street recently after a report about a man trying to enter a residence without permission.
Police spoke with residents at the house who said that a man, identified as Buddy Rooker, was beating on the door of the house. When the residents answered the door, Rooker tried to force his way into the residence. One of the occupants told police that they had to physically remove Rooker from the porch to get him to leave. Rooker was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.
While being searched at the jail, a small bag of drugs was found in Rooker’s mouth and had to be removed by a jail officer, because Rooker wouldn’t give it up voluntarily. Rooker was charged with loitering or prowling, possession of methamphetamine and crossing guard lines with drugs.
