Vietnam War era veterans will be honored at a public event on March 29, 2023 at noon at the Chattooga County Civic Center in Summerville. This date is National Vietnam War Veterans Day, a federal holiday.
Vietnam era veterans who served on active duty at any post during the time period of November 1, 1955 through May 15, 1975 are eligible to receive two awards from the US Department of Defense and the State of Georgia.

Veterans who have not received these awards are reminded to call Kim Snow at the Cooperative Extension Office 706-857-0744 by Monday, March 13. military information is needed in order for the Department of Veterans Service to print the awards.
