A county-wide competition to “Clean up Chattooga” County is coming in April.  The event organizers are encouraging civic clubs, churches, businesses, youth organizations and others to come together and build teams to go out and pick up litter in various locations in the county.

Organizers say that gloves and bags will be provided and teams will be cleaning up on several roads throughout the county in Summerville, Trion, Lyerly, Menlo and the Gore area.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 15th from 9 AM – Noon.  There will be several prizes offered including the most bags of trash collected, the most volunteers on a team and the most unique item found while cleaning up.

There will be a “Thank You” concert and after-party at the open air pavilion on East Washington Street in downtown Summerville after the event.
