In a ruling this week, the Georgia Supreme Court said that the state’s Judicial Qualification Commission (JQC) does not have jurisdiction to look into a judge’s actions before he was on the bench.  The ruling came after an appeal by former State Rep. Christian Coomer who now serves as a judge. The JQC recommended be removed from the bench.  Coomer was facing allegations that he fixed loans in his favor and that he violated campaign rules while he was a private attorney.  The JQC has 60 days to refile charges against Coomer.
