A thirty-five-year-old homeless man was sentenced to prison on charges that he molested a child in Chattooga County in May of last year. Joel King had pleaded guilty back in February of this year to the charges.
The Lookout Mountain District Attorney’s office had planned to produce five witnesses in the case from Wyoming who were going to testify that King had molested them, but did not have to take the stand since King pleaded guilty to the charges in Chattooga County.
Last July, King was taken to jail after he told a Chattooga County deputy that he was going to kill a man who had accused him of molesting a child. See related story from 2022 here
King was sentenced to five years in prison with ten years probation and a requirement that he get mental health treatment.
