Summerville police arrested the passenger and driver of a vehicle after a traffic stop last week.

According to a report released late last week, the incident happened on March 25th when a Summerville Police officer noticed a car without a tag light and stopped it on Commerce Street.  After speaking with the passenger and driver, the officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana and asked for voluntary consent to search.

Officers found marijuana, along with other controlled substances both inside the vehicle and inside the passenger’s book bag.  Also, officers found a firearm that was stolen in January of this year.

The driver, thirty-four-year-old Omar Lashley, was issued a citation for tag light and improper license plate display and a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge.  The passenger, Justyce Celeste London Hight, age twenty-eight, was charged with firearm possession while committing a crime, misdemeanor marijuana possession and theft by receiving stolen property.
