A Catoosa County physician posted bond Tuesday, two weeks after he was arrested for issuing illegal prescriptions to patients from the weight loss clinic where he practiced.

Dr. Norman Neal of 2513 Old Chattanooga Pike in Cleveland, Tenn., was arrested on March 1 and charged with 25 counts of signing blank prescriptions and five counts of possessing controlled substances after authorities raided his office following investigation of tips received by concerned family members of patients.

The arrest took place at Doctor’s Heath Center at 4213 Cloud Springs Road in Ringgold.

Although his bond was initially set at $150,000, Neal was able to post a $50,000 bond, and was released from Catoosa County jail Tuesday.
