Between 2000 and 2010, Chattooga County grew slower than any other county in Northwest Georgia, according to 2010 Census figures.  Floyd County was the second slowest growing county in Northwest Georgia.  Bigger news is that Bartow and Whitfield Counties now have larger populations than Floyd County. Gordon and Catoosa counties are also growing quickly with recorded growth-rates at 20 percent or more. The following is a list of counties and their overall population in 2010:
