U.S Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke to a crowd of around 200 people on Tuesday evening at LaFayette High School. The controversial 14th Congressional District Republican spoke on several topics, including her opposition to the war in Ukraine and her fears about transgender rights. Greene told the crowd there is a transgender ideology that is a danger to the nation’s children, and she said she is working to pass legislation that would ban gender-affirming treatment for minors. When asked by a constituent why she is so angry, Greene asked the crowd if they were angry, and most raised their hands that they were angry at the direction of the nation. In closing, Rep. Greene told the crowd that she “thanks God, Georgia isn’t like New York City”, referring to her recent trip to New York to support embattled former President Donald Trump.
