One person was killed and another injured following a two vehicle accident on Alabama Highway 9 just 9 miles North of Centre Saturday morning.

According to Alabama State Troopers 77 year old Max Donald Rogers of Piedmont was traveling north on Alabama 9, negotiating a curve, when his 2007 Honda Ridgeline traveled into the southbound lane. His vehicle then struck a 2007 Volvo tractor trailer driven by 59 year old Timothy Lynn of Piedmont. Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene 

Lynn was transported to the Jacksonville Medical Center. Circumstances surrounding the crash continue to be investigated by the Alabama State Troopers.
