On Friday, the Summerville Police Department released a report about an incident that happened on April 8th in which a man was attacked by a woman because he refused to pay her to clean his house.
According to the report, the woman’s brother drove her to the complainant’s house and became irate because he would not pay her to clean. Before the woman’s brother could get her back in the vehicle, she attacked the man. The victim had a laceration on his face near his left eye, police said.
Police found the woman’s brother who told them he had taken his sister to the victim’s residence. Police then found the suspect, who at first lied and said she wasn’t at the victim’s residence. Police told her that her brother had already told them that he had taken her there.
Police arrested forty-two-year-old Audrey Elizabeth Wooten and charged her with battery. Wooten became irate while being arrested and at one point dragged an officer into the mud while he attempted to place her in the patrol vehicle. Wooten was additionally charged with obstruction of law enforcement.
Police said that while at the jail, Wooten admitted to the assault and said that she was “on drugs”.
