The flooding that hit Chattooga County last year on Labor Day weekend was devastating for a Berryton church.  The water from Raccoon Creek was up so high that it flooded the building at Berryton Bible Mission, leaving the inside of the church severely damaged – damaged so much, the church members would not be able to use the building any longer.

The building was insured, but sadly, they did not have flood insurance.  Now, the congregation is excited about a new start for the church that was founded by the late Pastor Jerry Rutledge and his wife Charlotte.  The Rutledge’s ministered at the church in Berryton for nearly fifty-years.  The congregation has been able to acquire two acres of land on Highway 114, just a couple of miles from the original location.

This Sunday, April 23rd, Berryton Bible Mission will hold a dedication at the site of the new church building, located across from Weesner’s Game Processing near Hamp Brewer Circle.  Bro. Larry Reynolds says, ” We are blessed and excited to finally meet on Our New Land, it is a Beautiful 2 acres, The Lord has Provided! Bible Mission with. (Berrytong) Bible Mission now has a New Location for God’s Glory and Presence to fall on. Urge all members to come and all community invited…”

There will be tents set up at the site this Sunday morning for the dedication service.
