Dade County athletic director Vic Grider has announced the hiring of former Chattooga football head coach Shawn Peek in a defensive assistant’s role. The announcement was made last Thursday.
Peek, who was Dade’s head coach for one season (2004), led Chattooga the past three seasons, going 10-21. He also is a former assistant coach under Grider at South Pittsburg in Tennessee.
Dade head coach Jeff Poston said Peek will work with returning defensive coordinator Jason Monday on a unit that has eight starters returning.
“I’m excited to get Shawn in after losing Charlie Hammon two years ago on the defensive side,” said Poston, who has taken the Wolverines to the playoffs two consecutive seasons. “Coach Peek will help coordinate the defense with Coach Monday and will coach outside linebackers.”
