The Menlo City Council met on Tuesday evening of this week and discussed the Alpine well project and plans for the Independence Day Celebration in Menlo.

The council and mayor heard an update on the well and were told that the city is still waiting on the well driller to get the drive and the well pump to fix the well in order to have the water re-tested.

Also, a citizen approached the council about having a dilapidated church building on Franklin Street taken down due to the fact that the building is falling in and poses a danger due to the building’s condition.  The mayor and council told the resident that they would have to discuss the issue with the city attorney to see what could be done.

Also, the council is making plans for an Independence Day celebration for the City of Menlo.  The exact date of the celebration has yet to be determined.
