On Tuesday of this week (March 22nd), 51 year old Charles Ed Lowe of the Whiton community, was arrested by DeKalb County authorities on one count of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree.

Lowes victim was a female acquaintance under the age of 14; the arrest was the result of a report filed by the child within the last couple of weeks at the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigator Mary Waters initiated an investigation and following Lowe’s interview he was taken into custody.

He remains in jail at this time on $15,000 bond.

An investigation is on-going, in regard to the possible existence of more victims – and additional charges against Lowe are possible.
