An Airport Road woman was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with arson after police say she lit fire to a barrel outside of the Evan’s Store on Alabama Highway, re-ports state.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Teresa Lynn Lefevers, 48, of 102 Airport Road, broke in to a charity donation box located on the stores parking lot and began throwing items around.

Police say Lefevers then poured diesel and gasoline in to a barrel and lit it on fire. The barrel was “in close proximity to the gas pumps,” the report states.

The report also stated that the fire “placed Evan’s in reasonable jeopardy.”

Lefevers is charges with misdemeanor theft by taking, criminal trespassing, reckless conduct and loitering. She is also charged with arson in the second degree.
