A Northwest Georgia man has been charged with theft after he was accused of stealing a John Deere mini excavator from The Home Depot in Rome.

Floyd County Police have charged thirty-year-old Justin Andrew Taylor after the The Home Depot store on Hicks Drive said that Taylor rented the equipment and never returned it.  Store employees said that Taylor rented the equipment on March 19th and stopped returning the store’s calls when they contacted him about returning the excavator.

Taylor has been charged with felony theft by conversion.  The equipment was valued at more than $34,000.
