A jail ministry that operates in Cherokee County, Alabama recently baptized thirteen inmates at the Cherokee County Detention Center in Centre, Alabama.

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver said, “On May 25th, 2023, there were 13 Cherokee County Detention Center inmates who were baptized by God’s Redeeming Grace Jail Ministry”.

God’s Redeeming Grace Jail Ministry visits with inmates every Thursday to answer God’s call to remember people who are incarcerated by cultivating Christ-centered relationships in through which God transforms lives.

Sheriff Shaver added, “We appreciate the faithful workers of the jail ministry who give their time to come to the jail every week for this volunteer program. The hope is that these inmates will make a change with their life and we won’t see them back in jail”.
