A Trion man was cited after an accident on Tuesday morning on Central Avenue.  The Georgia State Patrol released a report on the accident on Wednesday afternoon. 

Troopers say that 49 year old Norman Lee Gaither of a Shady Lane address in Trion was travelling northbound on Central Avenue in Trion in a 2004 Ford Ranger when he crossed the center line into the path of a 1999 Chevy Blazer driven by 35 year old Mark Johnathan Floyd of a Conway Drive address in Trion. 

Gaither told State Troopers that he was distracted by a cup of coffee that was about to turn over in his pick-up truck when he veered into the lane of  Floyd’s vehicle.  Gaither was issued a citation for failure to maintain a single lane.
