Police have arrested two men in connection with the Wednesday afternoon armed robbery of downtown comic book store Legends.

Wayne Princeton Kelley, 19, of 756 Park Ave SE, Lindale, and Thomas Allen Rinker, 20, of 9 Hughes St., Rome, were found at a residence on Second Avenue.

Police said Kelley dropped his ID at the store, where a notebook of valuable Magic: The Gathering cards was stolen.

Detective Chris Arringston said Kelley told police they had planned to steal the cards because they knew they could be sold. Arrington said the robbery was planned first as a regular theft, then the pair decided to use a stun gun.

Both the cards and the stun gun have been recovered, Arrington said.

According to Gordon Lee, the owner of Legends the suspects came in and held what he described as a stun gun to his neck.

They took the game cards estimated at $1,000 and fled.

Lee was uninjured in the incident.
