A $1.5 million grant by the federal government will allow the University of Georgia to help advance agricultural initiatives. The USDA-funded grant aims to improve supply chain resiliency and strengthen the food supply chain across the state. The UGA Archway Partnership will administer the grant using its nationally recognized and award-winning model to support agriculture in Georgia. And it does so by connecting UGA experts with farmers and ag producers to determine the needs of Georgia’s agricultural community. The money is part of the USDA’s Food System Transformation framework, created to provide more options, increase access, and develop better markets for small and mid-size producers.
