An out-of-state traveler went to jail in Chattooga County after he was found to be in possession of drugs.
According to a report released yesterday by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, William Thomas Lacoste was stopped by a Chattooga County Deputy on Highway 27 near Farmersville Road last week after the deputy saw his vehicle cross over the fog-line. The deputy said in the report that he suspected drug use by Lacoste after speaking with him and noticing that his pupils were “constricted, consistent with narcotic opioid use”.
Lacoste told the deputy that he was traveling from Huntsville, Alabama to Macon, Georgia and handed the deputy a suspended Mississippi driver’s license. Lacoste consented to a search of his vehicle and the deputy found suspected narcotics and a glass pipe.
Lacoste was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail on charges of driving with suspended or revoked license, failure to maintain a single lane, possession of fentanyl and possession of methamphetamine.
