The National Forest Service is taking sealed bids on timber to be harvested on National Forest Service property located in Chattooga County.  The bids are for the “Storey Mill Sale” located about 3.5 miles southeast of Summerville.  Bids will be accepted until 11 AM on August 11, 2023.  You can see full details below:

CHATTAHOOCHEE/OCONEE NATIONAL FOREST

The Storey Mill Sale is located within Compartment 946, approximately 3.5 miles Southeast of Summerville, GA on FS Road 205 and FS Road 225 in Chattooga County. The Forest Service will receive Sealed bids at Conasauga Ranger District before or at the time of public bid opening at 11:00 AM local time on 08/11/2023 for an estimated volume of 371 CCF of Hardwoods sawtimber, 1288 CCF of Southern Yellow Pine sawtimber, 1132 CCF of Virginia Pine sawtimber, 1108 CCF of Hardwoods pulpwood, and 2741 CCF of Softwood – Other pulpwood marked or otherwise designated for cutting. The Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Interested parties may obtain a prospectus from the office listed below. A prospectus, bid form, and complete information concerning the timber, the conditions of sale, and submission of bids is available to the public from the Conasauga Ranger District, 3941 Highway 76, Chatsworth, GA 30705, phone # 706-695-6736.
