A store clerk at the Borderline Quick Stop in Chattoogaville reported shots fired to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office last week. The store is located near the Cherokee County, Alabama line south of Lyerly.
According to a report released on Tuesday, the clerk reported that a northbound red car pulled up in the highway and fired shots while the clerk was locking up the store for the night on July 11th. The clerk told a responding deputy that she went to talk with the owner of the store before she called 911. The report came in around 11:30 PM, but the clerk said the shots were fired at 10:15 PM.
The responding deputy said that no shell casings or bullet holes were found.
The incident is still under investigation.
