The City of Summerville presented the first “Friend of the Community Award” on Wednesday.  The award was given in advance of Friendship Week and the Friendship Festival that is coming up next week.

Walmart employee Paul Willingham was presented with the Friend of the Community Award.  Susan Locklear with Summerville Main Street said, “Paul is employed by Wal Mart. Although Paul has worked in many positions within Wal Mart, he is currently working with grocery pick up. Paul is commended by customers, his co-workers and supervisors for his work ethic. ” Paul is probably one of the Best customer service employees I have ever corresponded with in any business establishment anywhere. Paul always takes time to engage in conversation and genuinely cares about customers. The world needs more people like Paul.” – This quote is from a customer who nominated Paul for this award. Susan Locklear is encouraging the public to keep nominating people for the Friend of the Community Award, as more awards will be presented in the upcoming days.
