Summerville Police released a report this week about a stolen toolbox that lead to a drug arrest, and warrants for drug possession being taken out on several subjects.
According to the report, two probation officers called police after they located a toolbox that had been stolen outside the city limits from one of the probation officers’ residence. The probation officers requested an investigator from the sheriff’s office. In the mean time, a carload of people pulled up at the location. As Summerville Police spoke with one of the occupants of the vehicle, he noticed that she showed signs of drug consumption. After a voluntary consent to search the vehicle was granted, police found suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe. The other occupants of the vehicle said that the glass pipe belonged to Philana Williams.
Williams was transported to the Chattooga County Jail on drug possession and drug related objects charges.
Summerville Police said that they were taking warrants out on the other subjects on drug possession charges. The stolen toolbox is being investigated by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
