The Menlo City Council met last Thursday for their July meeting. Council members have been discussing updating the city’s backhoe for several months. The current backhoe is in poor shape and needs to be replaced, according to the city. Council members have decided to apply for a Menlo-Tillotson Grant to replace the city’s backhoe with a tractor with front-end loader. Also, the council discussed increasing sewer rates. The rate for sewer service has not been increased in thirty years. Also, the Menlo City Council will be having their August meeting at the new Menlo Elementary School which will be followed by a tour of the new facility.
