A town hall meeting, organized by Concerned Citizens of Chattooga County is going to be held this evening at 7 PM at the Chattooga High School Cafeteria. Organizers had originally planned to host the meeting at the Chattooga County Civic Center, but after an overwhelming response, they moved the meeting to the larger venue. Organizers tell WZQZ News that there will be several knowledgeable speakers at the meeting this evening. They said that they have 300 handouts available about how to appeal the property tax assessments. The hard-copies of the handouts will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis. Organizers also told WZQZ News that they have invited Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Eslberry to the meeting, but as of Monday had not received confirmation from the commissioner’s office that he would be in attendance.
