The Chattooga Young Farmers will hold their August meeting on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center located on Middle School Road in Summerville.

The meeting will feature Tom Kilcer with Advanced Ag Systems, talking about winter forages.  Kilcer is a Certified Crop Advisor, Certified Pesticide Applicator and has 34-years experience as a Cornell Cooperative Extension multi-county Field Crop and Soils Educator and Program Leader for Agriculture/Horticulture at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County, New York. For the past 3 years as private consultant, he has been conducting cutting edge research on forage, plant nutrition, and bio-industrial crops in partnerships with both university and private industry. He works directly on farm consulting in multiple states of the US. From solving problems in the broad based farm system to detail answers in crop production; solutions, not the problem, has been the focus.

The Young Farmers meeting will get underway at 7 PM and feature a pinto bean supper.  Contact Lauren Jarrett to RSVP by August 1, 2023. (706-252-4266)
