The Rome News Tribune reported this week that the organizers of the Wings Over Northwest Georgia Air Show have said that the show will not take place this year.  The organizers say that their decision was due to construction at Rome’s Richard B. Russell Airport.  The show, which has been ongoing since 2012, except for 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, has a multi-million dollar impact on Floyd County’s economy.  The organizers say that they are working on another air show at a different venue for this year, but details were not immediately available.  They also say that the show will return to Rome next year.
