A forty-six-year-old Gaylesville, Alabama man was arrested in Floyd County, Georgia and is accused of stealing around $20,000 worth of trees from several different businesses located around Rome back on June 12th.  According to police reports, Matthew Lewis Cook ripped the trees from the ground with his pickup truck.  The trees were later found on his property in Cherokee County, Alabama.  Cook and his wife, Sierra Denae Cook, age 27, have also been charged with shoplifting from Walmart in Rome.  Matthew Cook was being held on a $15,000 bond in the Floyd County Jail.
