The Trion Fire Department responded to and extinguished an illegal fire in Trion earlier this week. The fire department posted, “We’re educating residents that effective May 1st-September 30th, EPD’s Open Burning Ban is enforced. Open burning is allowed October 1st-April 30th of each year. During this time, you may burn limited yard debris such as leaves, pine straw, and small limbs from growth on your property. It’s always unlawful in the state of Georgia to burn man made material and it’s very important that you never let a fire burn out on its own, unattended”.
