AdventHealth Redmond recently announced the recipients of its 2023 Medical Staff Awards. These awards included Physician of the Year, Advanced Practice Provider of the Year and the Rising Star Award. The awards were given based on nominations received from hospital team members and medical staff.

The 2023 AdventHealth Redmond Medical Staff Award recipients are:

Physician of the Year: J. Michael Ware, MD, Cardiologist

Nominators describe Dr. Ware as genuinely caring, personable, loyal, a mentor, a lifesaver, humble, approachable, selfless and a leader.

“Dr. Ware is a pioneer in cardiology. He has been a leader among his peers for decades. He was the first electrophysiology physician in Rome, Georgia, in 1990. He is highly respected by his colleagues, who look up to him as a mentor and role model. Despite Dr. Ware’s many accomplishments, he remains humble and approachable. He is loved by all the nurses he works with, and his patients often refer to him as friend. He truly embodies AdventHealth’s service standards of Love Me, Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy and Own It. He is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that his patients receive the best possible care. He is a pillar in the community. He is deeply committed to giving back, and he serves his community through fundraising and his work. He is always willing to lend a helping hand. He is an exceptional physician who has made a significant impact in his field and in his community.
