Railroad crossing repairs will begin this Friday in Summerville, that according to the Chattooga & Chickamauga Railway.   The repairs will be made at the crossing on Highway 27 near the intersection of Highland Avenue.  The work will begin on September 8th around 7 PM and will be completed by Monday, September 11th around 7 PM.  All lanes of Highway 27 will be closed during the repairs at the tracks.  Detour signs will be installed that will guide traffic northbound passing through Chattooga County.  The detour route will be Highway 48 (the Menlo Highway) and take northbound traffic to Highway 337 in Menlo.  From there the traffic will go to Walker County and be directed back to Highway 27.  Detour signs will be installed to make through-traffic aware of the detour.
