A woman was charged for DUI for drugs after a traffic stop last week. According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy on patrol on Holland-Chattoogaville Road noticed a car crossing the double line. The deputy performed a traffic stop and the driver told the deputy that she was “out looking for driftwood”. The deputy noticed the smell of marijuana and asked the woman if she had been smoking pot. The woman admitted to smoking “two-to-three hours earlier”. She also told the deputy that she was “still a little high”. Lawonna Sue Johnson was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail on charges of DUI for drugs, failure to maintain a single lane and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
