Once again this year the Chattooga County Extension and Chattooga 4H will be hosting a cleanup of the Chattooga River. The event is part of the Rivers Alive project that helps clean up waterways across the state of Georgia.
Volunteers wade into rivers, lakes and coastal waters each fall as part of the continuing statewide campaign to clean and preserve more than 70,000 miles of Georgia waterways.
Chattooga County 4H Director Zach White says ”
The 4-H program in Chattooga is planning a river clean up for Chattooga County! We partner with the non-profit group Rivers Alive and report our trash count in pounds to them! If you want to get out on the river the first two weeks of October you can report your count of trash to me and how many people we can send it to the state agency!
Let me know if you have any questions here or can call the 4-H/Extension Office at 706-857-0744
