Driving around Chattooga County this weekend a person could see a lot of Alabama, Dade County and Catoosa County tags.  Storm victims from these areas were seeking goods and service in Chattooga County which was untouched by last Wednesday’s storms.

Laundromats in Chattooga County were just one of the businesses that saw a dramatic increase in businesses over the weekend.  Residents from neighboring counties were seen sitting in lawn chairs at one area laundromat as they waited for their turn to wash clothes.  Restaurants in Chattooga County also saw an increase in business over the weekend as people without power found places to eat a hot meal.

Area churches also are reaching out to help folks in neighboring counties who have suffered storm damage.  Several churches in Chattooga County are gathering goods for storm victims.  Chattooga County residents are also able to donate items for storm victims at four locations:

The Summerville Branch of the Chattooga County Library

Trion Town Hall

Lyerly Town Hall
