Floyd Medical Center and Floyd Against Drugs will host a prescription drug drop off Saturday May 7 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Individuals are encouraged to use this as an opportunity to go through their medicine cabinets and remove any expired, unused or unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications. The medicines will be accepted at the north entrance to Floyd Medical Center on Turner McCall Boulevard.

The purpose of the drop off event is to reduce the risk of abuse or accidental overdose of prescription drugs and to protect the environment from improperly disposed medications. Floyd Emergency Medical Service and Little Green, the Floyd EMS mascot and safety training ambulance, also will be on hand during the drop off.
