UPDATE 9:45 AM: Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader says that a single-vehicle accident near Kirby Hollow Road downed power lines. Emergency crews are waiting for Georgia Power in order to extricate the driver from the vehicle. All traffic over Taylor’s Ridge is being detoured – Northbound and Southbound lanes. Avoid the area. WZQZ Radio is off the air due to the power outage that is affecting the radio station and about 450 customers in the area of Taylor’s Ridge.
UPDATE 9:56 AM – From Chattooga 911:
Traffic on Highway 27/Taylor’s Ridge is at a standstill due to a Vehicle Accident. There are multiple lines down across the roadway, and power is being cut due to these lines down.
Traffic is being rerouted on Hwy 27 on Taylors Ridge to Hwy 100. A truck has knocked down power lines near Butler Dairy Road and Hwy 27. It could be a few hours before repairs are made. Use caution and expect delays, please use an alternate route until the accident has been cleared and lines are back in place.
