A twenty-seven-year-old woman and a twenty-eight-year-old man were arrested on Halloween night after a traffic stop by Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputies after a deputy clocked the car they were in travelling over the speed limit on Highway 27 at Taylor’s Ridge.  According to a report released yesterday by the sheriff’s office, when a deputy walked up to the driver’s window after performing the traffic stop, he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and noticed an open bottle of tequila.  There was also a handgun located in the console of the vehicle.  After running information on the male passenger, deputies determined that the passenger had active warrants in Tennessee and Georgia.  While attempting to verify the man’s identity, the suspect became irate and began to curse at the deputies.  Deputies arrested Jeremiah Devon Timmons and charged him with disorderly conduct and obstruction of officers.  The driver, Jasmine Morayh Anderson, was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, DUI for drugs, reckless driving, speeding and possession of a Schedule I drug.
