Police were called to the Rome Transitional Academy Tuesday, May 17, after an employee reported receiving a bomb threat, reports state.
According to Rome police reports:
A caller reportedly told an academy employee “there is a bomb in your building. It will blow up in 10 minutes,” at approximately 11:50 a.m.
The building was evacuated and searched by police. No bomb or suspicious items were found. The complainant told police they suspected a disgruntled parent.
Several calls were traced to a gas station phone booth. No charges have been filed in the case.
