Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader spoke with WZQZ News on Tuesday about a Trion man who went missing and was believed to have been on Taylor’s Ridge for several days.  According to the sheriff, Kevin White was reported missing by family members on November 13th, after he went to Taylor’s Ridge in the Mountain View / Spring Creek area of northeastern Chattooga County.

The sheriff said that he now believes that White was on the ridge for several days and then returned to the Mountain View area before his whereabouts were discovered by law enforcement this past Sunday.  The sheriff says that he does not believe that White was on the ridge the entire time he was missing.  Sheriff Schrader also said that there is reason to believe that the forest fire last week on Taylor’s Ridge could have been caused by a camp fire while White was staying in the woods.

The sheriff said that White was dehydrated and had some minor injuries when law enforcement made contact with him on Sunday of this week.  White was transported by EMS for treatment.  The sheriff also said that White is still receiving medical attention and has not been interviewed extensively by sheriff’s office investigators.
