State Senator Colton Moore (R) is still calling for a special session of the legislature to investigate the district attorney that is prosecuting former President Donald Trump in Georgia. 

Moore has called on Governor Brian Kemp to hold a special session to “defund or impeach” District Attorney Fanni Willis, who was elected to office by the voters of Fulton County in 2020.  Governor Kemp has dismissed Senator Moore’s call and fellow Republicans have ousted him from the Senate Republican Caucus.

This week, Moore used a special legislative session called by the governor concerning redistricting to call again for defunding or removing the elected Fulton County District Attorney.

Moore said:

“Governor Brian Kemp is failing the people of Georgia. While we won the fight for a special session, we’re here for all the wrong reasons.

By special orders from the governor, we will not be investigating or defunding the corrupt Fulton County District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is using her office’s resources to politically target President Donald Trump and 18 more political prisoners who are facing potential life sentences for questioning the integrity of our elections.

As predicted, the RINO excuse for a review commission to investigate Willis’ weaponization of her office failed at the hands of the Supreme Court. It is now on the Georgia legislature to take action and protect the people we represent.

I pray for this Senate. I pray for this legislature. We are in a dark time in our country and in Georgia.

I am once again calling on my colleagues to join me in calling for a special session to investigate, defund, and potentially impeach the most corrupt district attorney in America’s history.”

Republican leaders have said of Moore’s effort:
