The Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office released a preliminary report on Thursday regarding an accident on Highway 100 near Lick Skillet Road that happened on Wednesday evening.  According to the report, a Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on GA 100, while negotiating a curve to the right.  The truck exited the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch and road sign with its front. The truck continued traveling along the ditch for over 100 feet before returning onto the roadway and exited the right side of the roadway. The pickup then struck a ditch and a tree with its front.  During the crash investigation it was determined that driver of the pickup truck was impaired and charged with DUI.  The name of the driver was not released in the preliminary report, but WZQZ will have more information as it becomes available.
