Chattooga County was recently featured in an online municipal magazine.  The article “Chattooga County, Georgia.  A Flourishing Example of Innovation and Tradition” appeared in the November 30th issue of Civil Municipal Magazine.

The article mentions several initiatives that have taken place in the county over the past year.  Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry is quoted in the article saying, “We’re addressing the shortfall in high speed internet access by doing a $10 million broadband project.  This project will increase the fiber footprint in Chattooga County and give access to high-speed internet to about thirty-four hundred people that previously did not have internet”.

The initiative is being made possible in part by a $3 million Georgia Broadband Grant.  Windstream will be picking up the tab for the remaining $7 million with it’s Kinetic internet service.
